BEIJING, June 1 -- AC Milan coach Carlo Ancelotti said yesterday he would leave the club by mutual agreement but he did not say he was going to join Chelsea. "I can't say anything else official. I have not made any agreement with any other club," he told Sky TV.

Ancelotti's announcement came as Torino became the third and final team to be relegated from the Italian Serie A when it lost 2-3 away to AS Roma in the last round, while Milan secured a direct spot in next season's Champions League.

Torino needed to win and hope relegation rival Bologna dropped points to avoid joining Reggina and Lecce in Serie B next season. Bologna beat Catania 3-1 to finish in 17th place with 37 points, while Torino ended on 34.

Bari, Parma and the winner of the promotion playoff will be the newcomers in Serie A next season.

Milan won 2-0 away to Fiorentina to finish second and take the final automatic Champions League place. Fiorentina finished fourth and will have to qualify for Europe's top-tier club competition.

The match represented Milan captain Paolo Maldini's last match before retiring after 902 matches for Milan in 24 seasons.
