拓展:waste還可作動詞“浪費”例:Don’t waste your time 。別浪費你的時間。
Recycle 作動詞,意為“回收利用,在使用”例:we should recycle all our waste paper.
拓展:re-是表示“重復;又”的前綴。類似的詞還有reuse (重新使用)和rewrite(重寫)等例:The teacher asked me to rewrite the article.老師要我重寫那篇文章。
Students at a green school also learn ways to save energy and recycle at home.綠色學校的學生們也學習節約能源的方法和在家回收利用。
save energy意為“節約能源”其中save表示節約例:we should save energy as much as possible.我們應盡可能多的節約能源。
拓展:save的用法:(1)儲蓄;儲存例:They have saved enough money for the vocation。他們為假期積攢了足夠的錢。

例:please save water.請節約用水。
挽救,解救,常與from搭配例:The young policeman saved the little girl from the fire.年輕的警察從火中就出這個小女孩。
Though pollution is heavy now,I don’t think it’s hopeless.盡管現在污染很嚴重,但我認為是有希望的。
Hopeless作形容詞,“無望的”。反義詞hopefull “有希望的”
例:He is hopeless about his chances of winning the contest.他沒有希望在競爭中獲勝。
拓展:--less 是形容詞后綴,表示“無;沒有;不能”
