A這類代詞有myself，yourself，himself，herself，itself，ourselves，yourselves，themselves。請注意第二人稱單數形式yourself和第二人稱復數形式yourselves之間的差別。不定反身代詞和
不定強調代詞為oneself。
B動詞所表示的行為施加到施動者自己身上時，也就是主語和賓語同為一人時，用myself，yourself等詞作動詞的賓語：
I cut myself.
我把自己割傷了。
He cant shave himself.
他不會給自己刮臉。
It is not always easy to amuse oneself on holiday.
假日自娛并非總是一件容易的事。
Tom and Ann blamed themselves for the accident.
湯姆和安為了這起意外事故責備自己。
This refrigerator defrosts itself.
這臺冰箱可自動除霜。
請注意，如果把反身代詞換成相互代詞each other，其意思就會發生變化：
Tom and Ann blamed each other.
湯姆和安互相責備。(湯姆責備安，安責備湯姆。)
C myself，yourself等也可用于動詞+介詞之后：
He spoke to himself.
他暗自心里想著。
Did she pay for herself?
她付了她自己的那一份錢了嗎?
Look after yourself.
望你保重。
Take care of yourselves.
希望你們注意身體。
Im annoyed with myself.
我生自己的氣。
He sat by himself.
他獨自坐著。
She addressed the envelope to herself.
她在信封收信人處寫上了自己的姓名和地址。
但是如果介詞是用來指明位置的，一般要用代詞而不用反身代詞：
Did you take your dog with you?
你把狗帶去了嗎?
They put the child between them.
他們把孩子放在他們中間。
Had he/Did he have any money on him?
他身上有錢嗎?
