used to/be used to
1. be used to 意為習慣于，其中的 to 是介詞，所以其后要接名詞或動名詞（不能接動詞原形）；若要強調從不習慣到習慣的過程，可用 get， become 等代替動詞 be.如：
He is used to looking after himself. 他已習慣于自己照顧自己。
Im sure Ill get used to the hard work. 我相信我會習慣這艱苦工作的。
注：be used to 有時可能是動詞 use 的被動語態結構 （此時意為被用來，其中的 to 為不定式符號，其后要接動詞原形）。如：
A hammer is used to drive in nails. 錘子是用來釘釘子的。
2. used to 意為過去經常，其中的 to 是不定式符號，而不是介詞，所以其后只接動詞原形（不能接動名詞）。如：
He used to live in Paris. 他過去一直住在巴黎。
注：used to 通常不能與表示具體次數（如 twice， three times 等）或一段時間（如 three months， five years 等）的詞或短語連用，但是它卻可以與 always， often 等表示經常性意義的副詞連用。如：
正：I went to Paris three times. 我去過巴黎 3 次。
誤：I used to go to Paris three times.
正：I lived in the country for three years. 我在鄉下住過 3 年。
誤：I used to live in the country for three years.
正：I always used [used always] to be afraid of dogs. 我過去總是怕狗。
used to 構成否定式和疑問式時通常有兩種方式：即借助助動詞did 或直接將 used 用作助動詞。如：
He usednt [didnt use] to come. 他過去不常來。
You used to go there， usednt [didnt] you？ 你過去常到那兒去，是嗎？
另外，有時也可見到以下這樣的否定式和疑問式，但不是很普通：
Did you use（d） to be a teacher？ 你過去是當老師的嗎？
They didnt use（d） to live here. 他們過去沒住在這兒。
There used to be a cinema here， use（d）nt there？ 往日這里曾有家電影院，是嗎？
